I am married with 2 grown up children. I was a primary school teacher for many years prior to becoming an Autogenic Therapist. I have interests in natural history and creative arts. I discovered Autogenic Training after undergoing major surgery which completely altered my life, leaving me with chronic pain. Autogenic Training helped me to regain control and provided coping strategies to manage the pain and disability.
Having used Autogenic Training for myself before training as a therapist, I appreciate its value and the potential it has to restore well-being without the use of drugs. The majority of my work is with those affected by long-term illness and/or chronic pain (either their own or that of a relative), and with anyone experiencing stress and anxiety. I work mostly with individuals but also small groups. Each course begins with a consultation followed by 8 sessions (at weekly intervals where possible), with a follow-up session at a later date. All courses are tailored to meet the needs of the individual.
I have a flexible, accommodating approach and I can also adapt the presentation of the course to enable those in more remote areas of Scotland (or elsewhere) to benefit from AT.
